My Story
Hi, I am Noman Husain
Hi, I am Noman Husain,A dedicated change leader and highly experienced in the functionalities of the contemporary business world, I have seen strong and unique businesses often bite the dust and disappear without any trace. An entrepreneur in practice and at heart, I have critically evaluated for decades exactly what it is that makes successful and even profitable businesses unable to survive, let alone thrive, in the 21st century. Having identified the core causes that make organizations unable to cope with the ever-changing and dynamic business environment of the world today, I founded Transformability, an organization that provides consultation and a guiding hand not only on how operations can be transformed but also on overcoming the fear of disruption. By transforming both organizational mindsets and operations, I help businesses face challenges head-on, galvanize all their assets and capitalize on change.
Our lives resemble a roller coaster ride, and we never get to know at what point there will be a sudden turn changing our lives forever. Here you can enjoy some flashbacks into my life and journey from my origin country to here.My entrepreneurial inspiration came from my early life back in Pakistan. I was born to a working-class family that adopted challenging jobs to make ends meet. My parent both worked day and night, and I was inspired to follow their path during my University life and ahead. I studied at Karachi’s prestigious Engineering University. To support my parents, I offered tutor services in my free time. Even though I led a struggling early life with hardships all around, I still enjoyed every moment to the fullest and never gave up on my dreams.
My First Decision: Moving to the USA
My First Decision: Moving to the USA
Having had a decidedly normal upbringing in a middle-class family, I was always told that the only way to achieving anything you want in life is through hard work. With both parents working full-time jobs, I grew up knowing the value of time, money and ambition. Despite having meagre resources spent on my schooling, I landed myself in one of the most prestigious engineering universities in Pakistan. Although I had achieved one of my biggest life goals there was still this part of me that constantly drove me to strive harder and harder. Perhaps the most life-altering decision that I ever made, a thirst for higher education landed me in the USA. With faint notions of the American dream and a consistent dream of proving myself, I not only got a post-graduate degree but also immensely valuable work experience in some of the most illustrious automotive companies in the world, including Chrysler.
My Second Decision: Yearning for more
My Second Decision: Yearning for more
After spending ten years at Chrysler and in the middle of a global recession, I felt in my heart that it was perhaps time for me to experience new things. Despite having a well-paid job in one of the most famous automotive companies in the world, I left the job in favour of a small consultancy firm that was meagre, to say the least in comparison to Chrysler. As fate would have it, I soon began working at another world-class automation company where I would work for another ten years. Managing quality operations strategy, I gathered experience that made me who I am today. Through these two decades, I realized the importance of putting yourself out there and getting experience if you want to leave a mark in the industry.
My Third Decision: Ciao Italia
While I stood at the highest point in my career, in my personal life I witnessed some tremendous lows. A cancer diagnosis shook me to my very core and threatened my mental health a fall similar to dominos. With the conviction to battle anything still inside me, with every ounce of my being I enjoyed my move to Europe working at the same company at the same time battling Cancer. Despite facing a life-threatening illness I experienced Italy with wide eyes and an open mind, willing to learn and grow my already vast experience. Refusing to be shackled by my circumstances the very being I dedicated to the growth of not just my knowledge base but also did everything in my power to enrich my family’s living experience.
My Fourth Decision: Searching for Excellence
A conventional career stemming from the big American Dream where people climb the ladders in corporate firms and put every ounce of their existence into work seemed glorious at the onset of my career. However, battling things in my personal life and seeing the world with an open mind I realized how circumstances and change can often reduce a person to nothing and how important it is to be resilient faced with no matter what. Refusing to bow down to the same conventionalities, moving back to the USA in 2018 I began my career as an entrepreneur, setting foot into a new world armed with my experience and vast knowledge base. As hard and drastic as the shift was, I felt fulfilled despite facing initial difficulties. With the knowledge of how to survive in today’s economy and a dedication to helping others make a mark in the industry, I began my journey for excellence both in myself and in my career.
The Story Remains Unwritten
With an established consulting firm helping businesses transform their operations and grow and an established centre for operational excellence, IndustryX, at Wayne State University, I juggle more than one mega-project at once. In addition to that, I also run a non-profit organization, Ocean Source Technology Foundation and run a career podcast ‘So You Want to Be’. Having experienced all that I have experienced and seeing companies either thrive in change or fall to ashes, I am firmer than ever in my conviction to not just help myself but others. After all, what is knowledge if not collected with an intention of sharing?
